Aside
Terms of Service
The short version: Aside helps you track savings goals and the purchases you resist. It isn't a bank, it doesn't give financial advice, and by using it you agree to the terms below.

Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using Aside, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. These terms are between you and Thomas Amara, the individual developer of Aside — there is no separate company.
What Aside is (and isn't)
Aside is a personal savings-tracking tool. You manually enter your own figures — goals, amounts resisted, expenses, and income — and Aside calculates progress, trends, and celebrations from what you enter.
Aside is not a bank, does not move real money, and does not link to your bank account or cards. Nothing you do inside Aside constitutes an actual transfer of funds between accounts. Aside also does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice — it's a tool for tracking your own decisions, not a recommendation about what those decisions should be. Use your own judgment, or consult a qualified professional, for anything beyond simple tracking.
Accounts
You can use Aside in local/guest mode with no account, or create an account (email or Sign in with Apple) to sync data across devices. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for the accuracy of the data you enter.
Subscriptions
Aside's free tier includes up to 5 active funds and the core resist-log loop, no card required. Aside Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, purchased and billed entirely through the Apple App Store on the terms Apple shows you at checkout — pricing, billing cycle, and any trial period are set there, not by this document.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel a subscription any time via your Apple ID account settings — Aside cannot cancel it on your behalf.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own refund policy; I have no ability to issue refunds directly.
- If you restore a purchase on a new device, use the "Restore" option in Settings.
Your content
You own whatever you enter into Aside — your goals, entries, notes, and any photos you attach. I only process it to run the app (see the Privacy Policy) and never claim ownership of it. You're responsible for the accuracy and legality of anything you enter, and for having the right to any photo you upload.
Acceptable use
Don't use Aside to store or transmit unlawful content, attempt to disrupt or reverse engineer the service, or interfere with other users. I reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for behaviour that threatens the app's security or other users.
Disclaimers
Aside is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. While I take reasonable care with reliability and security, I don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any projection, trend, or calculation it shows will be accurate down to the last detail — always treat figures as estimates for your own planning, not guaranteed outcomes.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Thomas Amara is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Aside, including loss of data or loss of savings-tracking history, beyond the amount you've paid for the service (if any) in the 12 months before the claim.
Termination
You can stop using Aside and delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete account). I may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, with notice where practical.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially, the "last updated" date above will change and, where appropriate, I'll let you know in the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
